Destination Essex

I took off from Linton and headed north-west to cross the River Thames to the east of the Blue Water shopping centre and Gravesend. After crossing the river I turned left to head west towards the Dartford Bridge, passing by the Lakeside shopping centre on my left. On reaching the M25 northern approach to the Dartford Bridge I turned south to cross back over the Thames into Kent. As I approached the river I had to fly a little bit further west than I’d anticipated as the areas around the bridge approaches on both sides are heavily developed and it would have been illegal to fly over them as there would have been nowhere to land in the event of an engine out.

This is another of my old videos that was shot on my old Canon videotape camcorder that I’ve reprocessed having lost the original footage a few years ago as the result of a computer hard drive crash. Much has changed in the intervening years as many of the green fields in the video on both sides of the river have been built over with new housing estates.
