My First Flying Video

My plan was to fly out from Linton over Bewl Reservoir, continue on to Hastings via Battle and then to Rye following the coastline. I then planned to head back to Linton via Tenterden.

My camcorder, which I’d got running for the first time, was aimed a bit too low, but I was quite happy with it for a first effort, especially as the sound, which included the engine and radio, was much better than I’d expected.

The videotape ran out after 60 minutes just north of Tenterden and I landed at Linton 20 minutes later.

NOTE: This is a video of its time. Technology, equipment and my technique have all improved immeasurably over the years and the quality of this video reflects that. It also didn’t help that I lost the original recorded footage following a computer disk drive crash some years ago.
