Cyclone AX3 microlight G-MYRO was used by Rosie for many years training students for their microlight licences. I was the last one and just before I’d completed the course, MYRO’s permit to fly expired and it was taken out of service. Its engine and some of its instruments were transferred to a newer AX3 Rosie had acquired, G-MZEL, and MYRO was partially dismantled for storage.
Although its wings were hung up in the dry on a hangar wall, its fuselage stood outside in all weathers just covered up against the elements by an old tarpaulin. So very sad. After thinking about it for a while, after I’d qualified I decided to buy what was left of MYRO, obtain an engine, the necessary instruments and the other parts required to restore it and to get it back into the air. Thus a new chapter was about to begin in MYRO’s life.
