Something unexpected

Here’s a sight that I didn’t expect to see after I came to France and had settled into my little house in Plazac. Photographs taken outside my house this afternoon.

I thought that I’d be here for the rest of my retirement and that this would be the last house that I’d ever live in. But it now seems certain that that is not to be. However, I’m not disappointed or downhearted and I’m looking on the prospect of selling up and moving as more of a new beginning than an end of something. And let’s face it, even at my age you can’t have enough new beginnings, can you 😉

I’ll tell more in my next post.

  1. Hi Roger – aha! a writers ploy… some tension and suspense! Well, I’m most glad to hear we can look out for positive things and so fingers crossed for your very good outcome.

I’m especially pleased to hear it wasn’t Brexit mucking things up for you – we know of too many already who’ve had to drastically change plans because of it – and I’ll look forward to your ongoing posts. It’s one of the most pleasant blogs that I read – a nice mix of technically interesting flying stuff together with charming insights into local life.

    Good luck!

  2. Hi Joel, thanks for your kind comment. Don’t worry, it’s not a disaster (far from it) and it will have a very good outcome if everything works out the way I’m planning. It’s not Brexit related and I’ve already applied for my ‘Carte de Séjour’ (residence permit) so I’ll be staying on here and keeping on doing what I’m doing. I’ll explain things more fully in a future post (even this evening possibly) but I can’t spill the beans until I’ve got things a bit more wrapped up.

  3. Oh Roger! Why?! You were living the dream and following along with your adventures made for a lovely read. I hope it’s not Brexit related. Perhaps you’re just moving on to better things. Good luck either way and thanks for the inspiration from your blog.
