And indeed they were.<\/p>\n<p>We drove via St Cyprien to the small medieval hilltop town of Belv\u00e8s where there was hardly a soul to be seen outdoors. It was the first time I&#8217;d been there (although I snapped it from the air a while ago) and I found it rather disappointing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/micro-trike.co.uk\/images\/belves001.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/micro-trike.co.uk\/images\/belves001_s.jpg\" alt=\"null\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/micro-trike.co.uk\/images\/belves002.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/micro-trike.co.uk\/images\/belves002_s.jpg\" alt=\"null\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/micro-trike.co.uk\/images\/belves003.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/micro-trike.co.uk\/images\/belves003_s.jpg\" alt=\"null\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We then decided to head back via Sarlat and on the way passed by the Ch\u00e2teau de Beynac perched high up on its clifftop overlooking a wide bend in the River Dordogne.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/micro-trike.co.uk\/images\/chbeynac001.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/micro-trike.co.uk\/images\/chbeynac001_s.jpg\" alt=\"null\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As things were so quiet, we then headed back home for a cup of coffee and a last slice of Christmas cake, which we consumed in front of my wood burner.
