I had a special event planned for this afternoon but the day started with me putting all of the bathroom furniture into place so I could get an idea of how it will look when it’s finished. The plumber needs to come back to install the WC and also the other one in the separate toilet because I found today that that one hasn’t been fixed to the floor either.<\/p>\n

I still have to source the shower screen but when that’s in place, the tiler has filled all of the shower floor joints and I’ve painted the ceiling, the bathroom will be usable.<\/p>\n

So what was the ‘special event’? It was picking up a new washer\/dryer from Electro Depot in Brive from where I also sourced my oven. <\/p>\n

Now I know that this wouldn’t be very ‘special’ for most people but bear in mind that I’ve been living in a caravan for over 2 years, that I’ve had to use the public machines in Rouffignac for the ‘bulk’ washing I’ve done and that other small items I’ve had to wash by hand.<\/p>\n

It was very satisfying for me when I connected it up to the water supply in the ‘cellier’ and plugged it into my extension lead that’s connected to my electrical ‘branchement provisoire’.<\/p>\n

My first (huge) load of washing is going through the machine as I type this and with the drying cycle that I’ve included to make sure that it’s working properly, it’ll be finished at around 2.15am.<\/p>\n
